Mrs. Klein's Kosher Pickle Company is a growing food manufacturing and distribution company seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting department and strengthen our financial controls.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, invoicing, collections, deductions, commissions, financial reporting, and internal controls.
We are looking for someone who can improve processes, train staff, enforce accountability, and help ownership make better financial decisions.
Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting operations including AR, AP, invoicing, month-end close, and financial reporting.
- Monitor customer payments, collections, credit exposure, and COD accounts.
- Oversee customer deductions, chargebacks, short pays, reclamations, and dispute resolution.
- Manage broker and salesperson commission calculations.
- Review customer profitability, pricing, freight recovery, and margin performance.
- Create and improve accounting procedures, SOPs, and internal controls.
- Train and develop accounting, billing, and invoicing staff.
- Build reporting dashboards and provide financial analysis to ownership.
- Work closely with sales, operations, warehouse, and executive leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Master's Degree, CPA, or CMA preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of accounting experience.
- Minimum 5 years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager role.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on Canopy software experience REQUIRED.
- Experience in food manufacturing, food distribution, CPG, manufacturing, or wholesale distribution preferred.
