Tank Yard - General Labor

Purpose:

The position of the Tank Yard Worker is a crucial part of the MRS. KLEIN’S KOSHER PICKLE CO ®. They are responsible for helping with the management of product to the production lines and being aware and maintaining quality and food safety standards within our company. As a team member you are one of the most important parts of our team

Requirements:

Tank yard Workers must maintain the policies that have been set forth by the company, in both safety and quality. This is including but not limited to the following:

  • Unpacks raw materials to and from trucks
  • Ensures that all products (from raw materials to finished product) meet company and government quality standards.
  • Work independently with little supervision
  • Must be able to follow verbal instructions and understand how to put machinery together and break down at the end of the day.
  • Work outside in all weather conditions, rain, excessive heat, cold
  • Notifies Tank yard Supervisor or lead of substandard quality product issues
  • Cleans and maintains tanks and tank yard area with instruction from supervisor
  • Assists with training of new production/tank yard line associates to ensure production processes flow according to standards and guidelines.
  • Cleans and organizes the work area as needed and may help in other lines or facilities when needed. The docks need to be maintained throughout your shift. Picking up trash, broken boards and keeping your tank yard clean is part of your job.
  • Must be able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
  • Drive forklift; have forklift license
  • Clean tanks as they become empty, sanitize tanks, net the tops of tanks for insects, keep tanks full of water, perform quality tests and perform general housekeeping.
  • Required to stand and walk around for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Must be able to read and/or write either Spanish or English proficiently enough to fill out forms for quality control or packaging purposes.
  • Flexibility and teamwork a must.
  • Notifies lead or production supervisor of substandard quality product issues.
  • Performs all duties in compliance with existing Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), State, Federal, and company regulations, policies and procedures (including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and safety regulations), including using all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Flexibility and teamwork a must.
  • Understand Mrs. Klein’s Brush and Container color coding program (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Understand Mrs. Klein’s HACCP program and CCPs (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)
  • Understand the safe use of all cleaning chemicals
  • Report any areas for concern with visitors or unsafe conditions to management, if something doesn’t look right, you will need to let your immediate supervisor know. This applies for Safety and the Quality of all Mrs. Klein’s products.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read and write in English OR Spanish
  • Start time at 6:00 AM
  • Must be able to lift 65 lbs.

Job Type: Full Time

Pay Frequency: Weekly

Pay Rate: $19.00 an Hour
